Description
In order to validate the proposed quantity takeoff method, a case study was performed by applying it to a real elementary school building, built in Korea with similar design conditions in 1997. The estimated quantity using the proposed method and the quantity at design completion were compared. On average, only about a plus or minus 4% difference with the quantity at the design completion was observed. Considering that the accuracy of an estimate in the preliminary design phase is, in general, plus or minus 10%, the proposed method provides an accurate estimate.
